SPLITTING UP YOUR FINDS

gobar4.gif

Splitting the finds with the landowner has always been a difficult thing to do. People are prone to argue over the fine points so I suggest that you make a small form where you sign and obtain the landowners signature and permission. Include the dates of searching and areas which may be off limits. The landowner has a commodity who's value is questionable at best. You have the expensive equipment and the expertise to operate it effectively. That argument puts you in the drivers seat. Don't quibble over details but agree on principles or walk away.

Split with the landowner 50 - 50 With the exceptions: that should there be an odd number of coins or objects that you get the odd one. You also receive the choice of the best coin, or relic. Do not attempt to split by value or you will open a can of worms that you cannot stop. Split quickly so that the older objects are split 50 - 50 and each one gets a fair share.

Return all dig holes to "as they were" status and if there is an argument that the grass may die then go to the local nursery and buy grass to cover the areas. Leave the landowner satisfied.
