Mickey Yewell (left) and Jim Rainey (right) are experienced water hunters, Mickey with ten years and Jim with eighteen.
They hunted Waikiki in September for 2 weeks and Mickey found 22 rings, 5 gold (14K to 18K), 2 platinum(Pt900), and lots
of silver rings, 2 silver bracelets, one unique gold necklace, 3 watches and one ladies engagement with 5 diamonds to 1/2 carats,
and 35 dollars in clad coins.
Jim found 8 rings but found the best with a mans 18K gold and platinum(pt900) with nineteen diamonds to two carats.
They hunted six to eight hours a day and some at night. They hunted in the surf and wet sand.
Mickey lives in Mission, Texas and Jim in Amarillo, Texas.
Josephine was blowing in the Gulf of Mexico but that didn't stop these two from finding rings.
In flood tides Mickey found 2 rings in 2 hours and Jim stayed for a few days and hunted in the storm surf finding 12 rings!
The picture of rings was unfortunatly on the beginning of the roll and was lightstruck so only a few of the rings that Mickey
had found are pictured here and the magnificent ring that Jim found is not shown although I saw a picture of it and was
impressed beyond my ability to describe.

Update:We have both been back to Hawaii with the usual successes that you might expect from such a trip. I just got back the first week of this month from a 15 day stay and we had a wonderful time. The tally was a $1600 Omega watch, $350 Seko, 3 platinum, 4 gold, and 13 silver, not to mention the junkers. 2 fair diamonds, not chips!
