Ever watch the things that people think are cool, nifty and trendy? You can learn a lot by just following along to see what they are thinking of. Recently in the last few years we have seen something like a new religion being born. As far as I can tell religions are mostly man made anyway. Following God is too complicated for most people it seems. Even some churches want to keep the people in huggies, but that is another matter.
There is a fascination with animal predators. Why? Because people are becoming more isolated and out of control and fearful. They have fixated on predators. You know, sharks, wolves, and other ugly critters. I think most of this came out of the Dinosaur movies that have been popular in the last few years. When people are isolated and fearful they often create fantasies of being powerful (as in dinosaurs, sharks, wolves, snakes and other ugly critters). They feel that if they can touch a fearful thing or be close to it they are back in control, if just for the minute and in balance and happy for that short time. Notice all the people that have snakes in their rooms? If anything is weird or ugly it is that! This makes some isolated and fearful people feel good however. Being weird used to be cool but it has been way overdone!
They feel that they are gaining control, in an out of control life if they can overcome even a small fear. The media is right in tune with these people too. All the make is movies about sharks and similar things. The Discovery channel used to take time to show the other species that make up this earth but now things have changed. People want TEETH!
It has become a religion to them. They are in awe of the predators and in fear of them also. What you are in awe of, you do worship. Worship can be of live creatures or inanimate idols. In their new religion they fill their lives with pictures of these creatures or the creatures themselves. This is a microcosm within a microcosm. People are becoming so L.. O.. S.. T.. that they may never find the way out. They are trapped within themselves because they have failed to react successfully in their real world environment. They fear so much. If your world is becoming too complex then simplify! Move out to the desert or live on a beach but change things until you can live a whole life the way you are supposed to.
To recover and gain control of your life again when it is far out of control is not easy but it can be done. You need to follow a rigid regimen and discipline to regain control. Sometimes a particularly mean job can get you down and you should remember that nothing is as important as functioning as a complete and whole human being again. Being fully capable of taking care of yourself. If needs be then leave the job, forget all the money! Your life is far more important than your job anyway. You can start over again in a situation that will give you elbow room and you can be yourself again.
The simple fact is that most people don't run up against a shark on the street. No dinosaurs either! You are never going to evolve into one and you don't need them in your life. People should live life and aspire to greater things. Life is more than work and home. Spend some time daydreaming on what you would do if you could. Then ask yourself what you would have to do to make it happen. Build a better you!
Make sure that the new person that you want to be is socially acceptable in a decent crowd. Make sure that you are not living ashamed of yourself. Put in the effort to excel and then to help others. Life is far more than a work cube, a car, and a bed. Live a life that builds and not destroys. Help this great modern society to gain its footing as it stumbles forward into a new world. Do not be dumbed down as many would make you. Social engineering would make you someone who works, eats, sleeps and watches sports. That way you are harmless and you can be managed. Think above these things. Live outside the system that is built to control and manipulate you. Think for yourself. Become all you can and in doing so leave the things of childhood behind you and mature in wisdom and ability.
